Cask sample. Lightish crimson. Ripe, juicy cherry fruit. Smells as if there is a touch of oxidation here, maybe just the sample. Much fresher on the palate. Sweet-fruited, generous and yet very fresh. (JH)

Aromas of orange zest, red plums and berries introduce the 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Les Bressandes, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave wine with the elegant, ethereal profile so typical of this site.
Cask sample. Mid-pale ruby. Lush, sweet red-fruited nose with ripe cherries and strawberry. Crunchy red fruit on the palate, with some extra richness. Vivid, crisp acidity and rounded ripe tannins mark this out as Côte de Beaune premier cru. (MH)
The 2023 Beaune Les Bressandes 1er Cru, racked the day before my visit, has a slightly closed nose at first. It opens with brambly red fruit and light sous-bois scents. Slightly chewy tannins mark the palate and it's grippy in the mouth, though I seek more precision and cut on the finish.
