(the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations finished at the same time, last summer): Orange zest and oil, white flowers and aromatic spices on the nose. Vibrant, juicy and extremely young, with strong acidity energizing the orange zest and saline mineral flavors. Finishes salty and very long, with terrific verve.

The 2011 Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet is impossibly elegant and refined. Sweet floral notes, Chamomile, mint and nectarine all run through a dazzling wine endowed with exceptional balance and pedigree. An Intensely saline, pointed finish rounds things out in style. I can't wait to taste the Bienvenues from bottle.
