Score 89/100 · Drink 2024-2030, Neal Martin, Aug 2024

Sourced from blocks planted in 1981 and 1982, the 2023 Elodie is the first vintage certified as Old Vine. Aged in around 20% new oak, this has a slight reduction on the nose, but it remains well defined, displaying wet wool and light lanolin scents. The palate is balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a little resinous in terms of texture, closing with a brisk, peppery finish. This is fine, though I prefer the previous vintage.
