Sourced from 60- to 70-year-old vines rooted in deep soils and invariably among the richer, more muscular wines in the range, the 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros delivers aromas of peach, orange oil, beeswax, honeysuckle and pear. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it possesses a rich core of fruit underpinned by ripe yet lively acidity. It is the fleshier and most demonstrative wine in the lineup.

Cask/tank sample. Savoury nose. Lots of texture and extract here. Lightly saline. (JR)

(from an incredible ~6 ha parcel). An exuberantly citrus=suffused nose reflects additional notes of mineral reduction, iodine and apple. The sleek, delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors display both good focus and power, all wrapped in a lemon-tinged finale. There is a touch of warmth and this does need to develop more depth but overall, this is quite good with fine upside potential. Drink 2030+

Initially a bit restrained, the fruit opens up on the palate with notes of white peach, nectarine and Mirabelle plums, accented with a salty minerality and a hint of spice. Chiselled and fine but still impressively powerful. Fèvre owns more than a third of Bougros; 2ha are located in this unique parcel that rises steeply from the river in south-southwest-facing slopes, producing this exotic, concentrated wine that will live for decades.
