Tasting notes
A 60-40 blend of Grenache and Syrah, Grand Tinel's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the property's strongest basic bottlings in years. Offering up gorgeous aromas of ripe cherries, a bit of stone fruit and intriguing notes of garrigue, it's full-bodied, supple, easy and charming but with ample freshness and length on the finish. Bravo!

The pale ruby-colored 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes in at 15.5% alcohol. It displays aromas of very ripe red and black fruits, licorice, dried herbs and cured meat. Smooth tannins swathe the full-bodied palate, contributing to a polished profile.
The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape (60% Grenache and 40% Syrah) is rock-solid and shines on all accounts. Ripe black raspberries, cherries, roasted herbs, licorice, and some peppery notes all define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a round, supple, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. I love its tannins as well as its mid-palate depth. This is one classic, seriously impressive base cuvée worth your time and money.
