(made from 47% pinot noir, 15% of which was added as still red wine, 31% chardonnay and 22% pinot meunier): Light, bright orange. A heady, complex bouquet evokes dried red fruits, gingerbread, floral oils and anise, with a smoky accent gaining strength with air. Fleshy and seamless on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry, blood orange and buttered toast flavors and a late bite of dusty minerality. Closes sappy, broad and long, with lingering smoke and spice notes.
