Tasting notes
The 2016 Corton Les Grèves Grand Cru offers vivid cranberry and raspberry fruit, bright with floral tones. Great definition. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, sagging a little in the middle with a conservative, tertiary finish that lacks some vigour. I must confess that I would have anticipated a better performance given how it showed from barrel. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

The 2016 Corton Grand Cru Greves has a very perfumed bouquet with Morello cherries, raspberry preserve and cold stone, very detailed and focused. The palate is very detailed and precise, with very fine tannin and mineral-drenched red berry fruit that is both elegant and intense. Just three-and-a-half barrels of this beauty. Beg, borrow or steal for a bottle (or alternatively try and buy one).
