Lots of pepper, smoked game, violets, and assorted purple fruits emerge from the 2018 Syrah, which is medium to full-bodied and has a juicy, fresh style as well as outstanding length.

A new wine in this range, the 2018 Syrah emerges from the Saturn block in Bentrock. Savory, powerful and embryonic, the 2018 is going to need time to be at its best, but it is so compelling and delicious. Inky red/purplish fruit, black pepper, mint and lavender all develop with a bit of time in the glass. This is a remarkable showing for vines that were only grafted with Syrah in 2017. The 2018 was done with 100% whole clusters, an approach that worked beautifully.
