Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2014
(15.1% alcohol): Dark red. Musky cassis, coffee, mocha, woodsmoke and game on the nose, plus hints of menthol and cigar box. Silky and sweet on the palate, with an almost syrupy quality but also a slight green edge to the currant and plum flavors. Suggests a wide range of fruit ripeness but offers good texture and early appeal. Dusty tannins showed a slight dryness with air.
