While there's a hint of honey to the nose of the 2020 Ventoux Persia Blanc, this foudre-raised Roussanne (there's an inconsequential amount of Clairette included) is about freshness and a rather linear shape on the palate, with barely ripe pear and citrus flavors, a silky mouthfeel and a long, mouthwatering finish.

The 2020 Persia Blanc is still youthful and vibrant, with lots of lemon, honeyed citrus, flowers, and sappy herb-like aromas and flavors. Much more up-front and fruit-driven than the 2019 today, it's medium-bodied and has bright, juicy acidity, terrific overall balance, and a great finish, while picking up an undeniable chalky minerality with time in the glass. This is another remarkable white from this estate. Compared to the richer yet slightly more closed 2019, the 2020 is more up-front and juicy and shows the fresher style of the vintage, while leaning more on its fruit. It should keep nicely for 5-6 years, if not longer.
