The 2021 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru has a well-defined and quite mineral-driven nose, one of this vintage's more elegant styles. The palate is well-balanced and cohesive with smooth, slightly honeyed fruit, fine acidity, and a persistent finish. A thoroughly enjoyable, well-crafted Mont de Milieu and one of Gautheron's standouts in this vintage. Chapeau.

20% fermented in barrel. Bottled only three weeks ago. Apple, citrus and steely acidity, but seems a little frail today. Shy. (MH)
