Tasting notes
One of the wines of the vintage, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Collection Charles Giraud (a 60/40 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre) reveals a darker ruby color and beautiful notes of black raspberries, toasted spice, roasted meats and warm spice. Beautifully concentrated and medium to full-bodied with ripe tannic structure, give it two to three years in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2025.

Deep ruby. Complex, spice-dominated bouquet of dark berry preserves, incense and Asian spices, with a bright mineral quality adding lift. Stains the palate with sappy, sharply delineated red and dark berry liqueur flavors. Like all of Isabel Ferrando's '13s, this wine shows outstanding energy and fruit expression. Finishes spicy and very long, leaving notes of candied lavender and spicecake behind.
Sweet red fruit, juicy and floral and opulent. Manages to be classic Châteauneuf without being heavy hitting. A conjuring trick! (RH)
