Tasting notes
The 2015 Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne is showing very well, mingling notes of pear, yellow apple and peach with hints of warm bread, hazelnuts and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with tangy acids and an intensely saline finish, it represents a felicitous marriage between vintage and site. It was disgorged in July 2020 with three grams per liter dosage.

The 2015 Mailly-Champagne is bright, crystalline and wonderfully taut. Mineral and floral notes abound, while the fruit is very much in the background. Mirabelle plum, eau de vie, jasmine, white pepper and crushed rocks give the 2015 its incredibly distinctive upper register. This cool, late-ripening site planted in the 1950s yields a Pinot that is all about nerviness and energy. Just as importantly, there are none of the vegetal notes that lurk under the surface of so many 2015s. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 4, 2020.
