I was surprised by the Riesling-like aromatics of the 1999 Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet. Rich, dried honey-laced minerals make up this outstanding wine's nose. It is well-focused, deep, concentrated, and offers a long, nuanced, and smooth finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
