Tasting notes
Riesling. 60 months on the lees. Inviting composition of warm brioche, ripe pear and delicate floral character. A fresh, striated juiciness and elegant bead underscore a sense of restraint over ripeness. An appealing stony momentum at the core yields to a delicate finish. (PS)

The 2018 Brut L'Artiste is a pure Rieslingsekt whose base wines were matured in barrel, amphora and stainless steel. It spent more than four years on the lees. Exquisitely bright, fresh green apple flesh comes with a touch of lovely spice on the nose, followed by a yeasty savor that blends beautifully with this apple notion. The palate is wonderfully light yet shows depth of fruit and more of that yeasty depth. The midpalate is a smooth union of apple, dried citrus peel and fresh pastry. Lightness is combined with fullness of flavor, making this as suitable for apéro as for the table. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2024.
