Tasting notes
Just one pièce could be produced of the 2023 Sylvaner vom Austernfels because the vines yielded only 10 hectoliters per hectare. The wine is very intense on the still young and yeasty nose that indicates super ripe and concentrated fruit. Full-bodied, pure and saline on the palate, this is a tight and fresh, very mineral and tensioned Sylvaner with still yeasty or even foggy notes that make it hard to see exactly where this wine is going. Tasted as a barrel sample in May this year.

Average vine age 45 years. Already bottled. Lighter than the Feuervogel, fresh, green-fruited, crisp and lively. Dry, juicy and dancingly light in every way. (JH)
