Tasting notes
The 2022 Ried Loibenberg Loibner Riesling Federspiel shows a clear, finely spiced, rather coolish nose. The palate is fresh, straight, tight, dry and quite austere or puristic, to put it more positively. There's savory, fresh, almost ripe white stone fruit and some phenolic grip. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2023.

Unterloiben. Sandy, stony soil over granitic gneiss. 414 m from the Danube, terraced and steep at up to 394 m. Intense, minerally citrus nose. Crisp and bright and lemony on the palate. Pristine fruit, decent length. Extreme freshness and nicely dry texture. (JH)
Crushed stones, citrus pith, sourdough, jasmine tea and hints of shiso leaf here. Refreshing and lively, with a medium body, vibrant acidity and energetic finish. Drink or hold.
