2023 Cotes du Jura Plein Sud

The bottled Trousseau 2023 Plein Sud has a spicy herbal profile (it even has some reminiscences of marijuana!) and is light to the point where it almost feels like a white. The grapes were picked quite early, the first week of September (in 2018 they picked it in August!), and the wine comes in at 11.5% alcohol. It's been a couple of years since they made a Trousseau like this (in 2020 it was 10.5% alcohol). They had a generous crop in 2023, and that probably helped the wine to feel more fine-boned; it almost feels like a Poulsard, with notes of acid berries and rose hip. It was bottled in August 2024.
