Score 88/100 · Drink 2023-2033, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru needs a little more impact on the nose, subdued initially, only reluctantly opening with aeration. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It's spicy with a healthy sprinkling of pepper toward the finish, but it doesn't quite shake off its patina of rusticity. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
