Tasting notes
Darker fruits, pepper, earth garrigue, and some spicy, chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Olivets, a terrific entry level release from this estate that has medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Buy a case and enjoy bottles any time over the coming decade. It's a pleasure-bent 2022 with tons to love.

Unfortunately, this 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape les Olivets, a blend of 80% Grenache Noir, 10% Syrah and 10% Cinsault, is dominated by phenols.
Black cherry, dried herbs and a dash of licorice set the stage for the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Olivets. Since I tasted it from barrel earlier this year, the 2022 has also developed Brettanomyces-influenced aromatic characteristics in the form of leathery elements, however, those don’t take center stage. A rustic finish of moderate length rounds it up.
Cured meat, licorice and strawberry compote introduce the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Olivets. Spicy, fleshy and framed in a firm tannic structure, the medium- to full-bodied 2022 walks off the stage with a savory conclusion and demands more time to come together.
