2018 Faugeres Les Schistes Dores

The 2018 Faugères Schistes Dorés is an assemblage of 90% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, aged a year in French oak. Licorice, damp earth and cedar shavings accent dark, plummy fruit on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich and velvety in feel. The plummy fruit picks up additional hints of licorice, plus black olives, mocha and crushed stone on the lingering finish. This is fine example of Faugères.
