Tasting notes
A good showing, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape is a forward, supple and sexy beauty that has medium to full-bodied richness, lots of black cherry and framboise fruit, background notes of licorice and spice, and a layered, ripe, pleasure bent style. Drink it over the coming decade.

Black cherry, sweet spice, soft texture and rounded tannin. Very classic CNDP, though it is fairly simplistic in terms of flavour profile. (RH)
Dark purple. Ripe dark berry and floral pastille aromas and flavors are complicated by suggestions of allspice and black pepper. Round and seamless in texture, with hints of licorice and cola emerging on the back half. Finishes long and smooth, with building sweetness and supple tannins coming up late.
