Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, boysenberry, licorice and smoky herbs are complicated by a sexy potpourri flourish. Juicy, expansive and concentrated, offering spice-accented red and blue fruit flavors and a touch of floral pastilles. Fine-grained tannins build slowly on the very long, energetic finish, which leaves behind a sweet lavender pastille note.

Tasted blind. Dark purple. Overripe nose and rather uncomfortably exaggerated with drying tannins (five-week maceration). Too much for me, but it may appeal more to some who like drama and concentration. (JR)
The 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape is a stunner in the vintage! Black raspberries, plums, violets, spring flowers and licorice emerge from this medium to full-bodied, layered, plush and beautifully textured 2014. Like almost all of the wines in the vintage, it’s forward and sexy, so early drinking will be the name of the game. The blend is 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre and the rest Cinsault.
