Score 88/100 · Drink 2006-2012, Robert Parker, Feb 2006

The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape is plump and delicious. Broad, savory, and hedonistic, with plum and cherry fruit almost in excess, this wine defines hedonism. It is not terribly complex, but it is round, soft, and best drunk over the next 4-6 years. Importers: T. Edward Wines, New York, NY; tel. (212) 233-1504

Dark red. Youthfully clenched aromas of bitter cherry and plum, with wild suggestions of Texas barbecue and black pepper. Big, solid and concentrated but youthfully unformed, with distinctly ungiving tannins. There's excellent material here but the wine is all potential today.
