Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2018, Robert Parker, Mar 2016

Another wine that can hit incredible heights of quality in the great years, but is certainly very good in a more difficult vintage, is the 2013 Domaine du Clos De Sixte Lirac Rouge from Lirac. This blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre is excellent. Deep ruby/purple with notes of licorice, black cherry, blackcurrant, pepper and baking spices, the wine is medium-bodied, shows good length, ripeness and overall balance. Tannins are not edgy or green, which is rather amazing in this year. Drink it over the next two or so years.
