Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2024-2037, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

From a parcel just behind the Lignier maison, this 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard is made with purchased fruit. It has a commendable bouquet with quite floral red cherry and wild strawberry, hints of liquorice. The palate is medium-bodied with a rather peppery entry and fine grip. Not amazingly complex but it is bestowed with admirable density on the finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle.

Offering up notes of sweet red berries, orange rind, peonies and spices, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard (négoce) is medium-bodied, lively and somewhat structured, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish.
