Score 87/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2017

The 2014 Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon comes from four conjoining parcels in the valley and one located on the estate. This is matured in 100% new barriques for 18 months. It has a lively mint-fresh bouquet with raspberry and crushed strawberry laced with cedar and pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, blackberry fruit mixed with cedar, but like its Stellenbosch counterpart there is a touch of austerity and greenness on the finish that jars on the finish.
