Score 88/100 · Drink 2015-2018, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Aug 2015

The 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape from Domaine du Vieux Lazaret is an enjoyable wine. Cassis, olive, tobacco leaf and roasted meats and truffle give way to a fully evolved, mature 1998 that has plenty of sweet fruit and a good finish. It’s not going to improve, but this has aged gracefully.
