A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Piedlong is gorgeous, and I’d certainly be happy to drink a bottle. Blackcurrants, kirsch, seaweed, tapenade, and shitake notes all flow to a ripe, supple, sexy red that has fine tannin, solid depth, and a great finish. It shows the elegant style of the vintage and will keep for 10-15 years.

The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Piedlong has been made since 2011. It's 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, drawn from the Piedlong and Pignan lieux-dits. With 50% whole clusters, it's quite floral upfront but also boasts plenty of cherry fruit and cinnamon. It's full-bodied and creamy in texture, ending on a long, peppery note.
