NV Cotes du Jura Vin Jaune

I received an unexpected bottle of NV Vin Jaune that was produced as a blend of different vintages. It has the Ganevat signature with tons of complexity and nuance, possibly from mixing younger and older wines. It has pungent aromas and flavors, lanolin, rubber, diesel, aromatic herbs plus the textbook Jaune aromas of rancid nuts, morel mushrooms and curry. The palate is round and lush, with great depth of flavors. Even if not organically certified, their vines on gray marl soils are cultivated without chemicals but with the help of preparations from plants, and the wine fermented with indigenous yeasts.
