Score 91/100 · Drink 2022-2035, Neal Martin, May 2023
The 1998 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos des Mont Luisants 1er Cru, which contains 85% Aligoté and 15% Chardonnay, has a fresher nose than the 2002, showing citrus peel, beeswax and a white asparagus hint coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with orange rind on the entry and fine depth. It's taut and focused with a slightly waxy-textured finish. This has aged well in bottle and is worth seeking out.
