Tasting notes
100% Pinot Meunier. Dosage 2 g/l. Disgorged December 2022. Wow, this really is a deep colour! Red, red rose. Smells meaty and hibiscus floral. Bit earthy and hefty, though, with a hole in the middle. Monolithic. (TC)

The (2020) Extra Brut Rosé de Saignée is a pure Pinot Meunier from vines planted in 1965 in Villers-aux-Noeuds. It is almost a light red rather than a pink wine. Crushed redcurrant has an enticing sense of licorice and pepper on the nose. Despite the full color and interesting nose, the body is relatively light yet edged with that sense of pepper and a slight, veil-like astringency that destines this for the table. A saline quality colors the juicy plum fruit with a lovely sense of stone. This is beautifully mouthwatering and salty on the finish. Disgorged: December 2022 - Anne Krebiehl MW
