Tasting notes
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru has an exquisitely-delineated bouquet with black plum and raspberry fruit that unfold with each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly flinty opening, compact, quite peppery with a deepening and rather grippy finish. There is something sultry about this Aux Brûlées, a Premier Cru that will repay 4-5 years in the cellar.

Cool yet ripe aromas include those of exotic tea, orange peel and freshly crushed red cherries. The rich, delicious and relatively generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors flash both good minerality and a taut muscularity on the focused, youthfully austere and lingering finish that isn’t quite as complex
Cask sample. Mid ruby. Red fruits, raspberries and a touch of cassis. Rich and energetic. Fine, fresh acidity gives energy and drive to the concentrated fruit. Concentrated in its core, not wrapped in extra-2020 velvet. Spicy, long finish. (MH)
