Tasting notes
Firm, red-fruited and mineral driven on the nose, the 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon will need additional time to come around. Full-bodied and with 15% alcohol, the palate is strict and still firmly tannic. Begin drinking in 2025.

Despite opening two bottles, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is extremely backward on the nose. The palate has a grainy texture and plenty of graphite-infused black fruit with a severe, perhaps too serious finish. A Cabernet that needs to lighten up - but I think it would have done that by now.
Full bottle 1,344 g. Tasted blind. Blackcurrant pastilles on the really interesting, sophisticated nose. Some savoury inkiness and lots of pleasure. Firm and confident and set for the long term. Lots there with tannin evident only on the end for future development. Long. This is the first wine that reminds me of ambitious bordeaux … luscious – a sort of right-bank style. (JR)
