The 2011 Chevalier-Montrachet from Colin-Deleger is surprisingly restrained and closed down, with little of the open, resonant quality of the year. There is plenty of textural depth and texture in the glass, although the flavors aren't fully developed. The 2011 finishes with substantial polish and a great deal of hope for the future. Sadly, there is just one 400 liter barrel to go around.

Great tension. Almost Riesling-like (no greater praise…). Wonderful mix of ripeness and acidity. Definitely riper than most. (JR)
