Drink 2026-2038, FINE+RARE

The Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Parts des Anges has a floral nose, crushed red fruits notes, perfectly mixing elegance and power. This full-bodied CNdP coming mainly from Mourvèdre grapes is subtle, airy and fresh with an excellent acidity, extraction has been controlled perfectly by Stephane Usseglio, delivering delicate and refined tannins. The mid palate is complex with rich perfectly ripe fruits. The long finish brings notes of baked plums tart and last forever. This is an excellent showing that will rival with the 2016 and 2019s, keep it in the cellar 3-4 years to start enjoying this wine fully.

More modern styled, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Part Des Anges is a blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, and 10% Syrah raised in foudre and demi-muid. Spicy black raspberries, red plums, spicy oak, graphite, and peppery herb notes all shine here, and it brings ample richness and depth on the palate, with medium to full body, ripe, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep through 2037.

A blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache Noir and 10% Syrah, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape la Part des Anges wafts from the glass with aromas of flowers, dark wild berries, tapenade, spices and ripe mulberries. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's generous and enveloping with velvety tannins, a fleshy core of fruit and a harmonious, long and vibrant finish. It is worth a special effort to seek out. Matured in foudres and large barrels.

70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 10% Syrah. Vinified in concrete tanks. Aged in foudres and demi-muids. Certified organic and biodynamic. Cask sample. Tasted blind. The nose is showing plenty of oak. The palate is powerful, with firm tannins, a rich, opulent core of dark fruits and brimming with toasted oak. There is fruit concentration here and, with time, that might just integrate the significant oak. (AC)
