2022 Chevalier Montrachet

Producer note: Jean-Marc Roulot has a small négociant operation where he makes small purchases exclusively in the form of fruit rather than must. Jean-Marc Roulot noted that fruit prices had become almost untenable and that absent a significant change in the market, that he is strongly considering stopping his purchases. As such, it could well be that 2022 is the last of these. More prominent, though not invasive, wood is present on the slightly riper aromas of white orchard fruit, citrus confit and a similar amount of wet stone nuances. The richer and notably more concentrated bigger-bodied flavors possess a generous mouthfeel on the equally beautifully textured, sappy and more complex finale. I wouldn't describe this as racy but even so, it is clearly built to repay extended keeping. This too is very classy juice.
