The 2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Clos de Beauvenir is a blend of 65% Grenache Blanc and 35% Roussanne. It aged for 7 months in a combination of demi-muids and new oak barriques. Unfolding with lively aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine, yellow apple, white peach, honey and beeswax, it is a medium to full-bodied, generous white with a bright finish.

65% Grenache Blanc, 35% Roussanne. Organic. Aged in demi-muid (85%) and new barriques (15%) for seven months. Tasted blind. Ripe and attractive nose, jasmine and chamomile. Nice layered fruit, very subtle and elegant wine – excellent long and focused finish. This has the acidity to age for a long time. (AC)

A tiny production cuvée that comes from a single parcel of vines just beside the estate, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Clos De Beauvenir Blanc reveals a very light gold hue as well as a clean, crisp nose of citrus, lemon pith, white flowers, and a subtle sense of crushed stone/salty minerality on the palate. This is another cuvée that in the past showed a much richer, more opulent, sometimes over-the-top style and today shows a much fresher, more linear, focused style. I personally prefer the richer style, but I do think this cuvée will last longer. It’s drinking beautifully today, yet it unquestionably has a solid 10-15 years of longevity ahead of it. It’s a beautiful white.
