Tasting notes
Unwinding in the glass with notes of pear, white flowers, hazelnuts and spices, Leflaive's 2022 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with a cool, harmonious, integrated profile and a long, mouthwatering finish. There's a touch more density here than in the Pucelles, but the two are quite similar in style this year.

The 2022 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a captivating sea cave and oyster shell-scented nose that is so different from the Puligny Premier Crus. The palate is slightly reductive but in a positive way, imparting a light bitterness and tension. There's tremendous weight on the finish, but it retains linearity and focus. This is another of Leflaive's 2022s that will demand time in bottle, but it is preloaded with potential.
