Earthier and less elegant aromas include those of plum, dark cherry, underbrush and a whiff of the sauvage. The rich, caressing and succulent medium-bodied flavors exhibit good power on the very firm, and firmly rustic, finish. This too could use better depth so at least a few years of keeping is necessary.

One of the more muscular, powerful wines in the range this year is the 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Les Tuvilains, a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated red redolent of dark berries, cherries and plums.
