The 2019 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru feels a bit subdued on the nose and does not really take off in the glass. The palate is raw and bitter on the entry, while the finish exhibits some dilution. Maybe too highly cropped?

Quite a reticent nose. But on the palate there's a really tingling palate-grab with a build of citrus, greengage and cement/stone-dust on the finish. This wine has the cut and bite one seeks in fine Chablis and I admire the subtlety and peacock's tail finish. Promising. But certainly not there yet. (JR)
