Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2023-2035, Neal Martin, Dec 2021
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru has an attractive nose with orchard fruit, peach skin and pressed white flower scents, well-defined with nicely integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. There is an underlying walnut note that gives it a Meursault slant, fine tension on the finish with ample length. This should age well in bottle, yet will also drink young. Closure: Diam

Chanson own 2 ha of Chenevottes in several small plots. Cask sample. Racy and savoury on the nose. Crunchy and textured with life and freshness. Lots to chew on. Real structure here. (JR)
