Tasting notes
Bright yellow. Vibrant, mineral-accented orchard and pit fruits on the perfumed nose, accompanied by a suave floral nuance that builds in the glass. Shows impressive depth as well as vivacity and lift to the fresh, densely packed orange, pear and nectarine flavors, which are supported by a spine of zesty minerality. The floral element comes back strong on the bright, sharply focused, impressively long finish, which leaves a chalky mineral note behind.

A wine that competes with the best wines of the appellation, the 2015 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes Blanc checks in as 100% Marsanne from two great terroirs: Bessards and Grandes Vignes. There are just over 300 cases of this elixir, which was vinified and aged all in barrel. Buttered citrus, white currants, crushed rocks and exotic flower notes all flow to a full-bodied, beautifully textured, layered, unctuous white that still glides across the palate. It’s a sensational Northern Rhône white to enjoy over the coming 2-3 decades.
