The 2018 Saint-Aubin Chatenière 1er Cru has a very clever reduction on the nose, opening with aeration to reveal lovely wet limestone, Granny Smith and light seaweed aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a silver bead of acidity, fresh and focused, light spiced with a Puligny-like mineralité combined with a touch of reduction on the finish. Give this 2-3 years in bottle and you will have an excellent Saint-Aubin. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
