Tasting notes
Mature and slightly evolved, yet with plenty of life left, the 2006 Vacqueyras offers up a complex profile of sweet strawberries, garrigue, forest floor and truffle to go with a medium-bodied, elegant and seamless palate. Drinking beautifully, with a classy feel, it should continue to deliver the goods for another 4-5 years. Drink now-2018. The home estate of Emmanuel Reynaud (of Rayas), Chateau des Tours produces beautiful, fresh and elegant efforts that often bear more than a passing resemblance to the more prestigious (and expensive) wines of Rayas. Light, bright red. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of candied red berries, potpourri and Asian spices, along with a subtle smoky topnote. Juicy, focused and pure, offering vibrant raspberry and cherry flavors that show surprising depth. This lithe wine packs a serious punch and finishes with gentle tannins and lingering sweetness.
About the producer

Domaine des Tours is a separate label to Ch. des Tours, however both ranges are made at the same Vacqueyras property. Part of the Rayas galaxy and made by Emmanuel Reynaud, the wines are a source of great value and offer a glimpse of the Rayas style.
