Score 91/100 · Drink 2014-2025, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, May 2022

The 2011 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition steams out of the gate with scents of leather, garrigue and cherries. It's a fine CdP at its peak, full-bodied and perhaps a bit warm, but silky textured and charming, with hints of licorice, black olives and charred meat on the finish.

Bright ruby. Ripe raspberry and cherry on the deeply scented nose and in the mouth. Fleshy and broad, with very good depth and a spicy nuance adding lift. Closes smooth and long, with lingering spiciness and pliant, harmonious tannins coming on late.

Ruby-red. Fresh red berries and flowers on the highly fragrant nose. Seamless and sweet, offering energetic raspberry and cherry flavors and sneaky spiciness. Silky tannins give shape to a sappy, penetrating finish. Showing the best side of the vintage and already highly appealing.
