Tasting notes
The 2021 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has an attractive nose with light peach skin and yellow plum aromas, though behind those is at least some mineralité . The palate is fresh on the entry with pretty apricot notes. It lacks a bit of Chablis typicity and doesn't really deliver complexity on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

At the moment all one can taste is acidity! Though it's quite concentrated, and so introvert that it's difficult to get a handle on it at this point. (JR)
The 2021 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru also comes from 67-year-old vines. It has a very expressive bouquet with blood orange and yellow plum complementing the flinty aromas. Hints of white peach in the background. The palate is well balanced, quite concentrated, losing a bit of precision on the mid-palate so that the finish just has a bit of heaviness (partly due to the reduction). Hopefully, it will gain more detail during the remainder of its élevage .
