Score 86/100 · Drink 1999-2000, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999
The 1996 Morey-St.-Denis Cuvee des Alouettes (original score: 87-88) is ruby-colored and offers earth, wax, and black cherry aromas. On the palate, this medium-bodied, bright, perfumed, and tangy wine reveals floral flavors of roses intermingled with a trace of licorice. Some fruit is present but it is not dominant, something I expect in such a youthful wine. My suggestion to those readers who own this wine? Drink up.
