Tasting notes
Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2016

(from fruit picked on September 15 with 13.6% potential alcohol, according to Lignier; 70% vendange entier ): Bright dark red. Very ripe raspberry and chocolate aromas are accented by licorice and mint. Conveys more mineral energy than the Faconnières, as well as excellent density to its dark berry flavors. Classically dry on the finish, showing strong saline minerality and serious tannins. This rather powerful wine from 50-year-old vines conveys strong terroir character. Lignier noted that this wine and the Faconnières have "done a flip-flop since the racking."
