Tasting notes
Open and expressive, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Les Sizies bursts with aromas of cherries, smoked meats and forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a succulent core of fruit that's framed by supple, powdery tannins. This should drink well young.

Mid crimson. Fragrant and open with red fruits. Attractively dusty, perhaps a touch stemmy? Moreish, finely dry texture but polished. Slightly abrupt on the finish. (JH)
The 2018 Beaune Les Sizies 1er Cru is made with one-third whole cluster this year. It has a slightly smudged bouquet of raspberry and strawberry fruit that needs to attain more clarity by the time of bottling. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that renders it much fresher and more tensile than the aromatics at the moment, although I would have liked a little more length.
